A Little about Me!
My background before turning into a full time Driving Instructor was that I worked for O2 for a while as a Credit Analyst and hence dealt with large volumes of calls from customers. So naturally I learnt to deal with customers in a professional manner and dealt with their needs effectively. This in turn has helped me to deal with learners on a professional level. I am a calm and collective person and this helps me to get on with both young and mature learners. I use the latest gadgets to make sure your bookings are accurate and all payments are up to date, from using the latest laptop to make sure you can see your progress and can make bookings for 1 week in advance to 1 year in advance not that it will take you that long to pass! I always keep my mobile on and majority of my learners prefer to text me directly and I always respond back even when I'm at home and not teaching, so I'm always available be it for advice or making amendments to diary etc.
Instructor & Pupil
I try to make sure the environment I create is fun, so that learning can take place. I don't believe in shouting, as this causes unnecessary stress on the pupil and make learning impossible. The best way to learn driving is to actually 'do' the driving! You would be surprised to hear so many instructors sit side by road waffling on about something that got nothing to do with driving.
Conduct of Lesson
I use a colourful presenter which gives the subject brief and objectives for the lesson, so that the pupil is aware what he or she will be doing today. The lesson is then progressed onto the 'driving part', this part I will continue to assess the pupil to make sure the pupil is learning what we have agreed on the objectives and I will provide all the help and assistance to make sure that any errors that are made are corrected. It's a common fact, in driving error's are bound to happen, but it's what we do to correct the error that makes the biggest difference. A problem left unsolved will turn into a bad habit which could cost you passing your test. So in short it's like trial and error you learn through your mistakes and a good instructor will provide you a remedial solution to try and prevent you from making the same mistake again.
As you can see it's very important to pick the right Instructor, as it could cost you more in the long run, remember cheap lessons are not always better lessons it's the quality of it.
